I was diagnosed with severe stenosis at L4-5. Took a couple of lumbar Xrays that surely look like examples of CES xrays that I googled. The Orthopedic PA discussed signs and symptoms of CES and to seek medical help for any signs.
She also recommended an Epidural Steroid Injection. I visit the Pain Management on Mar 24. I did some research about CES and the possible outcome freaks me out! Should I be freaked out? Currently all I have is pain in the lower back. No issues with continence.
I don't remember any event that may have caused this issue. The pain is strictly in the lower back and radiated left and right. The more I am on my feet and walking, the more the pain comes on. It's not very painful at all when I am sitting.
In bed, laying flat or whether on either side, there is pain, but much less than when I am ambulatory.
I am hoping the ESI works to alleviate the pain. If it does work, how long does the injection last?
