C4 C5 Spinal Cord Injury Recovery after 6 months

Hi,
My wife had a road accident with C4 C5 spinal cord injury. As per doctors it's brown sequard where her right side motor function is impacted and left side sensation.

She was able to walk independently without any assistive device after 2 months of injury and can now walk independently after 6 months but her walk is slow and speed has not increased even after 6 months.Doctors mentioned that we are lucky that we got a faster recovery

Is there anyone who has experienced slow walk and then it becomes fast and normal after this level of injury
