Hey Guys, I just wanted to remind you all to think about getting your yearly vaccinations done, if you havent done so already.
Even if you think your injury level does not warrant it...your respiratory health may be compromised, especially when mobility is reduced. Here in the UK we will start to come into the flu season soon so i figure that it may be the same for some of you guys too.
I have always had a yearly flu vaccination even pre Spinal Cord Injury....
Its a must that we all take care of ourselves and the best way is with management and precaution. Pneumonia is the number one cause of mortality for people with SCI. and Influenza is the main cause of pneumonia
Il try cheer you all up now by reminding you that we are all living longer though ...look on the bright side!
I wish I would've gotten my flu shot this year. I was sick when it was time to get them, so I couldn't get one. Now I'm sick again! I definitely won't miss next year!

I'm getting one.I've had pneumonia twice and it never goes away.Catch it once and you'll always have it.It feels like there is a brick laying on the bottom of each lung.I can't take a full lungful of air.Anything you can do to avoid it is good.Believe me when I say prevention, prevention, prevention. You really don't want pneumonia.
