Fascinating post DJ, I think this is a very important post, for me, it shows me what happened in my case, I never know that's what a spinal cord looked like. The presenter explains it very well
Wow DJ, this does explain a lot for me too....Now it makes sense why i have made no sensory improvements...why the muscles without signal remain without signal but why my pain improved significantly...
I was eating my crumpets when i started to watch and thought nah im not going to watch just now but it was too interesting for me not to..lol
I can now see that my cord was also damaged at the Cauda Equina Level as both sensory and motor function was irreversible in addition to the damage to the sensory and motor nerves that branch of at the side of the cord but the pain and temperature fibres were most likely spared ...
When i look at my MRI pics i could see that the spinal cord was compressed significantly.
This also explains why there is the 48 hour window of opportunity for surgical intervention with Cauda Equina Syndrome as it seems that maybe the onsett of compression at the Cauda Equina is initially affecting the sensory and motor nerves at the side of the cord at the initially before continued compression affects the cord? oh i need to ask that question when i got to my unit in December,
Well DJ...im fair impressed with you finding this...good job
Definitely Butiki & Lαrα! They do go in-depth into the Cauda Equina nerves, etc so it's a great video that everyone can learn from Oh and it was shyfx that sent me the video so I told her that I was going to share it on the forum

Welcome to the forum ama2z! Glad you found the video informative! This video has made me understand how the spinal cord works better than most things I've read so far.
