i'm posting this on a few other sci themed forums hoping that it'll reach someone relatively local to me who might be in need of such but can't afford it...
as above, it's free if someone actually has a sore, no insurance or funds to buy one, and REALLY needs it... otherwise $100 [the invoice I received from the rental vendor stated that it originally cost over $4k but based on the pump's appearance I think it's a somewhat older model compared to current design].... cosmetically it looks in like new condition... it has a waterproof surface [dark green] so easy to wipe clean with a wet rag, etc...
model/make: 'span america pressureguard apm2' by 'innovative solutions'... it's queen size [80" x 60"]... if you're serious about picking it up, I can get a few photos of both units this weekend if you need to see it first...
strongly prefer a local pick up from north east new jersey [park ridge, nj...in north eastern bergen county] because it's still a huge item - even when deflated - and with the pump it's quite heavy... cash/money order preferred if you're a buyer, obviously it's free to pick up if you're in need... can inflate it for you so you can see it works but it takes a long time [by design] to fully inflate therefore, unless you're willing to spend some time while waiting, i'd start inflating it about 2 hrs prior to your arrival at my place if so requested and it'll also take some time then to deflate...
however, if you want it shipped, YOU arrange the pick up from my place [either by private party - friends/family... or usps/ups] and pay for the shipping/handling costs if shipping via usps/ups....
i'm going to post this in other sci forums as well, i'm fairly confident there must be at least one person around ny/nj area who needs one...
if you aren't in need, however, please don't try to weasel it out for free from me... if you try and succeed it'll be on your own sense of conscience....i'll want some tangible, reasonable proof that you indeed have a bed/pressure to warrant the use of such a mattress.... believe me, I can always use some extra bucks living on a meager disability income myself....I could likely get more than 3 or 4 times my asking amount for it if i'd devote some time on craiglist, or sell directly to a vendor.... this is not about money for me but about helping someone out who needs it... the rental company charged the government around $1.2k every month for over a year so they've made their money back on just my lease and more than twice its original cost... so i'd rather pass it on to someone who needs it but can't afford one rather than just give it back to them...
however, if you just want to make a profit flipping it and don't have the need for it, then you'll pay the $100 i'm asking and make your own wheelin-n-dealin' but preference shall be given to those who need it for free...if no such people will express their interest, then i'll sell...
here's a bit more info...
i'm a c5-c7 quad and I've had a bad stage 4 pressure sore/hole, and eventually a bone infection, on my left hip in early 2010 to july 2011 so the 'wound healing center' that treated it requested the air mattress for me at home, via rental on monthly basis, paid by medicare/medicaid... I had part of the hip bone amputated and a muscle wrap procedure done in 2011 so the sore/infection healed and i no longer need it...
I needed the mattress to fit my queen sized frame because i can't dress myself without rolling around on any smaller mattress so they got me a [harder to get] queen size air mattress... half of it is active [inflatable], the other half is static [remains firm like a regular mattress]...
I guess the way it works, is if you need to use/rent it for longer than a year, it becomes yours to keep after the insurance pays for a full year's rental fee...after a little over a year I suddenly stopped receiving the monthly invoices from the mattress rental vendor and a nurse told me that this is 's.o.p.' and the mattress is now mine to keep... so, if there are any who have no - or crappy - insurance yet need such a mattress, here's your chance to have one for free...
now, I never was fully satisfied with it because it seemed to be somewhat underinflated most of the time... meaning that I was lying in a caved in depression not on a straight surface, no matter how firm i'd set the pump's firmness control to... that's how it was originally - as set-up upon delivery from the vendor/rental company - and the nurses which changed my dressings on semi-daily basis never mentioned anything about it being underinflated so perhaps it's supposed to be on the soft side...it did make a huge positive difference in how my wound progressed, despite it never actually healing...
i'm just throwing this info out in case you might think it defective... it's possible that it's not operating perfectly, I've not had previous hands-on experience with such mattresses at home so I can't really state one way or the other...
contact me here for more info... if the p/m doesn't work here you can contact me via facebook by going to my fb page and use the p/m function there:

i'll include that link in my profile here if possible...
i'm pretty sure most folks are already registered on fb in light of the times we live in hehe... i'm not going to post my e-mail address publicly because I don't want some internet spam auto bot to copy it and then deal with spamming...
cheers - jerzy...
