Knight, there are shoes that can be designed to help support your toes and help prevent them 'curling' so much. Is it something that can be discussed with your rehab doctor/consultant?
By the way Lαrα my podiatrist comes from Blackpool ..said by Butiki
Ohhhh lol Butiki, i rea-read what you said! Your podiatrist comes from blackpool lol i thought you were making a joke that i was your podiatrist haha doh! ??? Sorry! She must be a very nice person then
I meant when you're at home. I always keep shoes on when I'm sat in my chair whether I'm going out or now but I am trying not to wear them at home
oh, yeah, I try not to wear them at home, but that's how I broke my right big toe last month.
Ouch! I don't know Knight, the only think I could suggest is to keep shoes off if possible and be careful not to hit your feet against anything. I do think that it might help with the in growing toe nails

I do believe you are right about the blanket issue. My blanket had a good hold on my left foot last night and it bent my toes backwards. Evil, evil blankets.
Knight, I was thinking that it might have been the cause! Unlike Lαrα, if I leave my toes out I'd get cold so that's not an option for me. I just make sure there's lots of slack and that the blanket is resting on my feet/toes and not pulling on them

I have the same problem with my feet getting cold. They always feel like ice. So much that I have to use a heated blanket to warm them up! I'll just pay attention better from now on.

I wear wool boot liners to bed.
Not relating to my feet warmers our bedroom temperature is hovering around 50F. I've been sleeping in a military cold weather bag and I just pile Booktrout up with blankets until I can't see her.
Woah kilg0retr0ut, that's a cold room for sure! I'd need a mountain of blankets on top of me if my room was that cold, there's no way I could do that though with this messed up temperature regulation of mine.

I've read some on your temp siuation DJ, no fun. Off Topic, but I want to congradulate you again for you determination to get back into school. If you attack your studies like you've handled this site you will do very well.
Knight my partner has this problem too and he has to be very careful not to overtrim the side of the nail. Very painful and annoying condition indeed
I've repeatedly had to take a file and dig out the side of my nails because they grow into the skin! Good thing I can't feel it when I do it, but man, is my nerve pain crazy afterwards!

Ouch indeed Knight . Maybe if you can get a podiatrist to get the shape of your nails to a more normal state you can then trim correctly at home. My hubby only cuts along the top because this helps the nail to grow upwards.

I've been taught to cut straight across then cut a V in the middle to relieve the pressure. It doesn't work.
Knight..our government health service has some good info and advice sites. Here is the one we have on ingrowing toenails, there may just be a piece of advice there that may be of some help
