yes wavewolf, I have been watching him since i got out of hospital, I subscribe too his site he is brilliant.
I do my floor transfers quite differently, but I still have some leg movement, so I use that. Should I record a video of my chair-floor transfer so you could see another way, Butiki?

Hi Knight, I looked at both video's and didn't see much difference between your second example and the guys video. You both make it look so easy and effortless. I am very frustrated because I was starting to be able to do these transfers while still in rehab but due to shoulder pain I had to slack down on practicing. Then after my ski injury, I have slid back to square one, or -5 if truth be told. Did it take you much practice to be able to do that?
i totally freaked today. I was able to weigh myself for the first time in over 9 months. I gained just over 15 lbs!!! That probably doesn't help my transfers. So I am going to be more vigilant and will keep an eye on food intake and exercise because I want/need/must get down to 140 at least and if possible 130, pre married days.
sherry, it took me awhile to get the hang of doing floor transfers. The main part is having enough upper body strength to lift your body and know how to use momentum to get your butt back in the chair. I was never taught how to do floor transfers or transfers into a truck in rehab. Take care of your shoulders! They are your only way of transportation. My shoulder pain has gone away completely since switching to Natural Fit handrims. Maybe you should look into getting some. They're not cheap but they're cheaper than surgery on your rotator cuffs! Also, do rotator cuff exercises to keep your deltoids and trapezius muscles strong. I can post some pics of my exercises if you like

Sure, any help would be appreciated. I will be seeing my physiatrist march 31st when she should be giving me an infiltration. In the meantime I can certainly do some of those exercises.

Hi guys, here is the link to Blackpearlv6's you tube channels, he is really amazing with the things he does.
click here He was a real inspiration for me early on in my recovery.
P.S I hope you don't think i'm trying to put you out of business Knight.
Lol, Butiki! No problem! I need some more active videos but not sure what to do next. I need to clean my chair, but I don't think anyone wants to watch that.
Could have used this skill today! With my age and injury this is a skill I will never be able to learn or master. I have been trying to eliminate situations that require assistance for me and this is definitely one.
I know exactly what I want and how to build it, if I was still working this would be a simple project, sketch on autocad / build. I couldn't find a lift seat user friendly that's available on the market. I would really like to have a compact unit that could secure to the wall with a fold down seat that would fold down to floor, slide myself onto seat and have the seat able to power vertical to allow for a wheelchair transfer. There are a number of ways this could be done safely.
