I am a quadriplegic with limited arm function, but my right arm and hand have potential to regain function, and possibly give me back some independence.
My occupational therapist and I tried a thing called the armeo yesterday. It's a robotic arm connected to a computer. The computer has a program with different games to play, and the games require you to do functional movements. Some examples of the different movements would be; arm eternal/internal rotation, arm adduction/abduction, arm flection/extension, forearm supination/pronation and hand grasp/release. These games help to strengthen those specific muscle groups, so that they can translate into functional movement to be used in everyday living.
This looks promising deanertheweiner.....have you ever had EMG nerve testings done? I had extensive tests done and it showed where there was potential for recovery in the nerves..i found it real helpful

Yes I've done the EMG tests. It's mainly my left arm that lost muscle activity. The problem is my muscle tone, the co-contraction of my muscles limit me from strengthening my the full range of motion of the different movements in my shoulder/arm/hand by myself. I can do it with the proper facilitation of my therapist, but I'm not willing to pay the expensive fees to be with a therapist 24/7. That's where the armeo comes into play.
Do something today that your future self will thank you for.
