I built a couple sets of parallettes a while ago for exercise at home and a set for the the physiotherapy center I go to. I thought I would share them with any of you who might be interested, because they really are very useful for chair to floor transfers and vice versa, as well as many other types of exercise. I found the instructions on a link from the CrossFit Journal.
If you click on that it will take you to a page with lots of pictures and other diagrams to help you build them. You can build them to any specifications you like. I hope you enjoy!
Also, do any of you have any other cool exercise equipment ideas for me? I'm building a home gym downstairs.
Thankyou for sharing chris and good to see you back with us...I hope all is good with you
Im looking at equipment i can use to make a home gym..i have a spare room and the gym i used to go to doesnt have my most used piece of equipment now.
Keeping fit is so important....so as im looking around for things that i find useful i will post them up on this thread. I will look for some equipment that can be quad friendly too
What about exercise bands chris.. so you work different upper body muscle groups? Its also a very effective and cheap idea, im sure that they will be an inexpensive addition..you just need to adapt where and how they will be fixed..
If hand function is affected..maybe the 'active hands'exercise glove can be used to assist?
Thanks Lαrα ! I have a few different setups with bands already, but will definitely look at setting overhead ones up! And yeah DJ, they're pretty great.

I was just reading into another forum and found something really cool! This lady and her husband made a set of their own exercise training rollers for her wheelchair. Basically, they got the rollers from a conveyor belt company, but I also read that you could find all the parts from Princess Auto. I'm going to get creative and see if I can come up with a good design for it.
Here are the pictures -
