Hey DJ, were you planning to attend the 5K run-walk-&-roll for spinal cord injury recovery at the end of the month?
i am seriously contemplating attending and will make my decision by the end of the week. I am however having quite the time figuring how to get to Newmarket from billy bishop airport or from union station. I will likely be coming up alone so have to figure out public transport if I don't want it to cost over 100$ in taxi each way.
Do you use the public adapted transport in Toronto?
Hey sherry, I think I will attend yes! I haven't used the public wheelchair transit myself (TTC Wheeltrans) but do you think you could ride a GO bus up to Newmarket? If you check out this GO Transit Route Map you'll see that there's a bus directly from Union Station to Newmarket. I just did a route fare check for Toronto to here and it's only $8.80!
katydid, do you already go there? This will be my first time there and hoping to attend this summer if the dates work out with my holidays.
Sherry
No Sherry, I've never been before, first I've heard of the walk but then I just joined the forum in Aug 2013. I definitely couldn't walk that distance unaided, would have to use crutches at least part of the way. I will check to see if I can manage, my son gets married the following weekend in Cornwall so I have to make sure there are no last minute things for me to do.
