DJ and Lara, Hope you both have a wonderful visit! I'm so impressed with how you prepared, Lara--excellent tips for traveling. I'm afraid to make trips because of B&B issues, and not able to carry all the gear I need.
Thank you both for your efforts in establishing this forum--very well laid out, getting info into place, and positive vibes!

Thank-you so much for the lovely comment. As you may see it 5.45 am and my brain thinks its mid morning lol
I really need to sit down and get more written down about my journey here to Canada. I was so pleased that I managed to drink the water. I made such a boo boo because I had Canadian dollars with me on the plane and some sterling pounds and a debit card that i dont hardly use so did not remember my pin number for it. Problem with this is that I wasn't allowed to pay cash for drinks so fortunately the staff were lovely and supplied me with top ups all the way throughout the 7.5 hour flight.
This was the first time I have travelled since I had my DVT episodes....I have three embolisms in total but thankfully all was ok. My doctor could not stress enough the importance of keeping hydrated.

We have had a great opportunity to discuss the future plans for the forum and when we are back to normal next week we can get down to work....the holiday is over and its all very exciting!
Two weeks went by quick! It was a great time we both had and would be hard saying bye. We still have two days so we can still do lots! I think it'd be nice if you post up some pictures you took Lαrα.
Also please tell us about your beach experience, how not only 1, but 2 gimps managed at the beach. Did you try to go on the sand? In the water possibly? etc etc

I've had such a lovely time, i really don't want to go home but its been so great and an amazingly positive experience
I have been pleasantly surprised at the accessibility here in Canada....There hasn't been any problems finding disable parking that has been easy for the ramp on the van to pull down onto.
Everywhere we visited has had ramps leading up into and out of the buildings. The butterfly conservatory at Niagara Falls is completely accessible and that was for a chair for DJ and myself on crutches. We visited the movies near to DJ's home and that was easy for us both also.
We have been to some beautiful parks that were relatively accessible but not always easy for pushing due to the gravel surfaces, sand or grass. A power chair was much more useful for these kind of terrains.
Yesterday we had such a lovely time, we went to a nearby park for several hours, I did some walking along a trail in the park and DJ did some impressive self propelling for a quad!! The weather was perfect and we took some very unhealthy snacks with us...not recommended of course in the healthy eating discussion! but it was all very yummy
DJ and I have uploaded an album of some pictures of the areas we visited. The pictures all have a title and description so take a look at them - Trip To Canada
We're leaving to the airport in an hour, we had an amazing time but it'll be hard to say bye I'm looking forward to seeing you again Lαrα at hopefully the end of the year!
