Up until two years ago I practiced walking with a regular walker and used an afo on my left leg, my right leg is strong enough for no brace. Two years ago I started using a up n free gait trainer that has a bicycle seat and piston that help support me while I walk. So I've been walking with no right or left ankle support for two years and my ankle seems to have been fine. I recently started using a easy stand glider and my left ankle has been hurting, so when I was walking now my left foot kinda turns in and my ankle out and gets soar after a while. That foot won't plant very flat. So I went back to my afo for safety and it works ok. But was wondering if something simpler that was less restrictive. There are so many options out there, here are a few I've come across, please share your thoughts.
abacoian the glider hurts your foot eh? I don't have enough sensation so that's not something I've ever experienced from using it. I also have never used a foot brace so I can't really help you there.
I'm guessing there's a lot of pressure on the left ankle, it has always been weak. The sales company picked up the glider yesterday but I'm thinking I will have one soon. My exercise seems to be going good but I don't think there is any substitute for standing and weight bearing.

Ah ok, I gotta keep an eye on that. I haven't noticed anything so far but it's probably because I can't feel. Glad you decided to get it though!
