well, I think I may have contracted another UTI. How, I do not know. I've been extremely clean and careful with cathing, my bowel program, sex, and showering. I'm not sure if this is a full-blown UTI yet. I did a flush yesterday, and plan another one today. Come to think of it, I had an allergic reaction to a body wash the day before yesterday. Could an allergic reaction happen in your bladder if the soap got in there?
My urine is clear and doesn't smell, but there is this stinging inside my bladder and urethra and my bladder keeps spasming and leaking. I did bladder irrigation with saline, and it didn't help. I also filled my urethra with Lidocaine, and that helped the pain in my urethra, but not in my bladder. I had a rash down there yesterday, and it went away after my shower.

Hmmm do you have some bicarbonate of soda in Knight..although it does sound more like it may be some irritation. Keep an eye on it and flush your kidneys and bladder with a teaspoon of bicarb and water. It could be a touch of cystitis even....
I went to the walk-in clinic Wednesday evening, and it is a UTI. I was put on Macrobid, and have taken 3 doses of it, and yet to have any relief of symptoms. My bladder continues to leak and spasm like crazy, despite the antibiotics, use of Oxybutynin and increased use of Baclofen. My leg muscles are really weak because of the Baclofen, and I am still having tiny spasms. 30mg of Baclofen is 3x the amount I usually take and I'm still spastic. This is one mean UTI, and I won't find out what bacteria it is for another 12-72 hours.
DJ, I had a cystoscopy 6 months ago, and there were no issues. My urodynamics test showed that my bladder is a perfectly healthy, low-pressure bladder.
Lαrα, I've never heard of using baking soda as an irrigation. Does it help? Would I mix it with saline or distilled water?
I am exhausted, and slept through a small fever all day Thursday. I really need to find out what is wrong because this evening, I get to play step-mom to Mike's 8-year-old son, and Saturday, I have him and my 3-year-old son. I cannot deal with 2 children with sopping wet Depends and gnarly bladder spasms. If this doesn't get dealt with in the morning, I'm going to the ER for a Foley insertion and some IV fluids!
A female doctor i used to have was giving up medicine to start her family and she told me to take it with water at any sign of an infection..She uses herself and it does work.
You need to get sorted with this Knight, dont leave it longer than you should and do you really think you well enough to have the children ?

Lol, I was confused about the soda! Mike will be here with me to help watch the kids, so I should be fine. My bladder hasn't leaked all night; I kept waking up when I felt it spasm.
I'm waiting to find out my culture results, but I'm pretty sure they will be the same as all the other UTI's. It seems like I always get the same bacteria in my urine, Kliebesella pneumoniae (sp?)
The Macrobid (antibiotic) is finally doing it's job. My symptoms have let up finally, and I am only wearing a Depends in case I don't wake up in time to pee. (I've been sleeping really hard lately and not waking up soon enough to make it to the toilet.) I was very fatigued today because my back pain kept me up almost all last night. I regained my appetite and thirst. The only symptom that hasn't let up is my spasticity. I'm wondering what other meds besides Baclofen & Valium work for spasms?
Glad to her the antibiotic is working Knight! I started Macrobid tonight for a UTI as well but the good thing is that it's been a few months since I had a UTI! Hopefully after this clears I won't have another one for a while.
Do you stretch much? It should help with spasticity!
You know what's messed up? The culture came back on Saturday, and what bacteria was in my urine? None. Nothing. Nada. All the symptoms I had were because I got body wash in my bladder, and I happened to be allergic to the body wash. *facepalm*
