Sounds very likely dosent it Knight..this is the problem with cathing...its so difficult to find a perfect sterile procedure.
guys have it easy. They can see their hole easily! It's tough to do it by feel and then miss, and if you put the cath into your vag instead of urethra, you have to start all over again! Grrrrr!

I agree these guys can see where they are going at least but im not sure id like to be male and catheterising..seems theres further for their catheter to travel (of course there may be variables on this! lol).
I sure couldnt use the small neat catheters that i use now.
I can see the hole. but that doesn't stop it flopping about - in fact a guy needs three hands, one for the cath, one for johnson, and one to steady . . . and yes, my catheters are about 18" long . . .

Oh dammmmnnnn lol See Knight we havent really thought this guys have it easier too well have we! lol
You know what's messed up? The culture came back on Saturday, and what bacteria was in my urine? None. Nothing. Nada. All the symptoms I had were because I got body wash in my bladder, and I happened to be allergic to the body wash. *facepalm*
Wow, who would have thought eh? Glad you figured out the cause though. No more of that body wash for you!

Haha yeah, it's no fun for us either especially with my hypersensitivity there!

Yes, include me in the UTI club! Because they can get so nasty, I keep test strips in the house so I can report one to my doctor immediately. I have a Nerogenic bladder (for our newbies, that means spastic bladder). It usually takes 14 days of treatment to clear one up. My Urologist doctor has me on Uribel, Myrbertiq, and Oxybutynin. My natural contributions are a chewable cranberry supplement (so tasty I want to eat them as a snack!), slippery elm and herbal tea's. My gastrologist believes getting my constipation under control should help. He said it causes a lot of pressure on the bladder making it worse. TBD on that one.

I think I might have a UTI now. Started antibiotics last night just in case. So annoying!

Update: I wanted to share this information something to discuss with your doctor. Unhappy with my urologist, I consulted with a different urologist and he believes putting me on a low dose of antibiotic for at least 3 months should help eradicate the bacteria that causes the frequency of my infections. He said its common for people with chronic infections to have bacteria cells stick around. My pain management doctor said his Mother went through this treatment and it worked.
