Packing to go to the spinal clinic at Mayo tomorrow. I'm more than just a bit apprehensive about it. Never been to a Dr about my back that didn't make me hurt more. So I am hoping for better luck at Mayo. From what I have read, this is the number one spinal clinic in the USA. So , I'm hopeful yet apprehensive.
I saw Dr. Pingree in the Spinal Center. They'll likely send you to Neurology too.
and FYI: I stayed at the Nazarene well house -- $25 bucks a day 12 blocks way. $5 one way but most people go in the same time, so a buck each. And there i also the bus $1. GREAT PLACE to stay. Better than most hotels.
Wow outlier, I am in the extended stay for 80 bucks a night, free shuttle, but that sure don't make up the difference. I'm seeing Dr Kumar and Dr Atkinson. Had a new MRI today, it still shows the Arachnoiditis, but now showing the thickening of the cauda equina also. Having a new Myelogram on Thursday to see how extensive it is. Haven't been offered much hope from the Dr's so far. Keeping up hope though.
I would like to first say thank you to all of your thoughts and prayers and kind wishes. This has been a very long and tiring week up at Mayo. I first had another MRI, then saw the first Dr, he told me from the first MRI that I submitted that it didn't look hopeful, so they thought I should have up there to confirm or deny what they thought. So I had that, then to see how extensive things were , they had me go and have another Myelogram. I did this also, as the Dr doing the procedure was going along I asked a few questions and she answered me plainly, No run around as most at other facilities might do, she told me that it was not a cyst, it was all scar tissue and that the cauda equina was also very involved with the problems that I have been having. So, not the news we were all hoping for , but at least I now know, and can plan with the full knowledge of what's going on. I'm still waiting for the full report from them, but at least there will be no surprises. Im a very lucky man , for all of the friends and and family and all of the family on this forum, I'm truly blessed to have you all. As soon as I have the full report from them I will inform you about the whole diagnosis.

Hi tj, I'm sorry to hear the results weren't what you were hoping for, but as you say, at least now you know what you're dealing with and you can start planning what to do next. Being positive is a great start, and you seem to be that. All the best! Keep us updated.
