Hi raggety...as you know we have been in contact and my advice 2 weeks ago was to go to A and E that day...as it was best to air on the side of caution and be certain.
No one would know for sure if it is CES or not but if you are flagging up some of the symptoms then it warrants investigation.

Please try not to worry too much...you have done the right thing, this needed checking out. If you need someone to talk to then please pm me with your tel number ,

Hey raggety, I don't want to worry you but these issues are certainly not age related. Numbing of the saddle area is one of the signs of cauda equina syndrome so you should definitely try getting into emergency and checking it out as soon as you can just to be safe.

Thankyou so much ladies. The Dr I saw has ordered emergency mri scans, so I am waiting on a call. Still trying to convince myself it is only lumber pain as I can still feel "down there". Not quite sure raggety, I have never had that done...? maybe another member can shed light on it...I can only imagine it is to check nerve response?

No MRI planned yet?

kilg0retr0ut, that numbness that traveled up your left leg across your groin and down your right leg is exactly what I experienced, the only difference was that my pain didn't go like yours did. Very scary feeling.

It happened to me at about 5.30am

raggety, if there is a possibility that it is Cauda Equina Syndrome I wouldnt leave it until tomorrow, you should ideally go to A & E. If this is what the specialist suspects then you shouldn't leave it and you will get your scan quicker.
