I got a email the other week offering me free samples of the Coloplast speedicath, so I ordered them and they turned up a few days latter, great cath but at $3.85 who on earth can afford them. They are very easy to use but there is no way i can afford them, $115.50 for a box of 30. The catheter I use now, Paralogic are 50c each or $106.00 for 2 boxes of 100, including shipping. The SpeediCath catheter belongs to the newest generation of hydrophilic-coated catheters. The unique thing about the SpeediCath catheter is the smooth even coating and the fact that the catheter is immersed in saline solution and thus ready-to-use. If this product interests you click here
I really don't know why these things have to be so expensive........
Me too hobbit and Butiki...we get free prescription for them also....I know ive made this comment earlier this week but it frustrates me to know that people have to pay for assistance with a bodily function.
How do you get yours free Lara? I have to at least pay standard prescription price.
I have a medical exemption certificate which means that i do not have to pay for any prescriptions because this is a lifelong condition. You have to get an medical exemption from your doctor and they sign it for you. They may not mention it if you do not know about it so be sure to discuss this with yours hobbit.
I'm too independent, and don't have lots of holes hacked in me for catheters or colostomy bags, I can live with that . . .
Hmmm well i only IC too so really there shouldnt be a difference.. let me know if you want me to compose an email. I can write it professionally and throw a disability right at them too. The offer is there anyway
The speedicath is a great catheter, prelubed and all, but I can't justify $3.85 against 50c. The only continance help I get is pads and $530.00 a year from the government. The peristeen costs me over $400.00 a month.

I can hardly hold on to the things, plus they are harder than the Bard's I use. Mine are $12.00 a piece retail. I don't have to pay out of pocket, but what a rip off.
I wanted to try the Speedicath so badly, but they wouldn't send me any samples. Out of all the catheters I've tried, Cure Medical and MTG make the most comfortable ones. I have some sensation in my urethra, so I can feel when the rough eyelets of the Coloplast caths scrape me because they're not fire-polished.
