Hi freewheeler, the peristeen system is brilliant, like you it has given me my life back. I've had a few teething problems which is manly making sure that I've got all the water out, but I'm getting the hang of it now. And don't get to pissed, very bad day following drinking night out
Well today I celebrate, it's the first day in 11 months that I have worn a pair of normal underpants And it feels great
Awww wow..Butiki....that sure must feel good and def worth celebrating!! ..good for you!!....its been great following this thread from the beginning when you were first asking about Peristeen....and see now the progress you have made with using this system.
Im sure this will be so helpful for new members who may be considering this system as an option too
I guess I could call the Nurse Advice Line at Craig Hospital. But I have a feeling they don't know about it yet, because Peristeen just got approved here recently. I'm hoping to find someone who wants to sell theirs.

ah i see,,,hopefully one of our members will see this and comment.....here in the UK we are lucky, its available free and available..hopefully it will be available now in the US.... ...
Hi dnvrdave, it's not something that you can use second hand. The system itself is not that expensive, it's the catheters that are, here in Australia they are $10.65 each. No idea how much they are in the US. Try getting in touch with Coloplast the company who makes the system. I'm getting about 10 uses out of each catheter, but they are supposed to be single use.

dnvrdave, maybe you can call the hospital in a few weeks but for the time being you should do what Butiki has mentioned and contact Coloplast directly. They might be able to give you a couple to trial like they do with their catheters.
Does anyone know how to purchase Peristeen from the U.S.?
dnvrdave....here is the link below to the Coloplast site USA.....im sure they will be able to assist you ....let us know how you get on please. It will be helpful for other US members too

Well, I called Coloplast a couple days ago and was on hold so long I just gave up and hung up. You know how impatient we USers can be. I have an appointment with a surgeon in 4 days to discuss a colostomy. Peristeen might be an alternative for me. Hence, the impatience.

I can understand how frustrating that is....
but i think if you are seeing your surgeon soon then its really important to get to speak to coloplast before you see him. It may be an ideal option for you? Try them again maybe but i hope you are not help on hold for so long again this time.
