its funny because didn't really dance before injury because I wasn't a decent dancer. now I could care less what others think, I'm gonna bust a move now no matter how bad because I can.
Big gains today in walking...left knee is gaining strength and I am able to take a step without the knee buckling backward which concerned me when walking recently. I have been doing knee exercises to strengthen and it worked I can now walk with fair strength in left knee. I am sore everywhere and it is painful muscles and nerves at times but then the "xxx" indica strain of cannabis I have does its work and am able to continue with some pain just much more bearable medicated. the benefits of cannabis for me in recovery has been huge physically, emotionally and mentally.

Hey Sam, What exercises did you do to strengthen knees? My left knee also buckles as I walk. My therapist said knee buckling would stop as I gain strength in Hamstrings. My quads are good. Your exercises may help me too.. please give detailed exercise routine @sam .
for I, my left hand doesn't work well in gripping, still weak. so I do partial crunches with left knee. I do this by standing next to my floor to ceiling stand assist pole(stripper pole) and hold tight with right hand and carefully allow left knee to go towards ground while standing, stop about 6" down then my knee and leg work to lift knee back into standing position flexing knee muscles. I do about 10 to 20 reps at a time because of fatigue and I will do the crunch set 3 or more times a day. it took about 2 weeks of this before realizing yesterday the improved strength in left knee. I will also do the crunches set in my walker at times also. hopefully I was detailed enough for u younggun, just ask if there are more questions. in my profile pic u can see my stripper pole in the foreground with my powerchair.
Currently I am trying to feel my feet. So practising to standon uneven surfaces like on pillow and in sand. I am doing kneeling and half kneeling too. I will add crunches and side lunges to the routine. Lemme share results in a week. Today India lost to Australia in cricket. Pretty close game. Feeling sad. No mood to do routine. I will play counter strike and sleep soon.

Yeah Sam, complete squat is knees completely folded and my butts touching floor almost. This is huge accomplishment I believe. I tried it few days back and I couldnt do it. Today, while doing bridging, I felt some new muscles are helping. I got into full squat position and tried to stand from there. Yayyy!! I did it. I shouted and called my parents. I again did full squat in front of them and stood from there. Wowwwww!!!!!! wooowwww!!!!! I am sooo happyy.
this is freaking difficult, I was laid out after my accident for 4 to 6 weeks before starting PT in hospital. this really depleted my walking muscles severely and gaining it back is so hard, really testing my patience and still super sore as hell. Is there any walkers that were laid out for many weeks and how long did it take before you were able to walk again with decent strength? any input would be appreciated.
It would be great if any walker could answer you but seeing people here and in apparalyzed, it depends on level and impact of injury. I know this is just a vague statement and this is not what you are looking for. But trust me, you are the only one who knows answer for this question.
I ask my physios the same question many times. They give me somelines because they see my development daily. I asked same question to my surgon and he was the one who said my right would develop soon but left would take time. He said "When I saw the damage while operating you, I know that your left will take time than your right but to estimate how much time it would take, you are the only one who can do that." Even if two have similar injuries and similar level, and even though both of them put same effort, response of muscles will be different.
You are seeing improvement dear.. And I am glad you did not ask "Are there any walkers at all" but you asked how much time it would take. That is awesome. Keep up the confidence. You will walk soon.
And yeah.. I may also ask the same question "How much more time.." when I am frustrated with road blocks in my muscle development path. I think that is ok as long as we go to therapy routine next day again.
I'm definitely frustrated in more ways than this, ive been doing this for two years now and it just seems never ending this recovery. luckily I do see some improvement, so I keep going.
