I smoked cannabis for sometime before my accident. For me when I had any pain and I smoked cannabis it seemed to intensify the pain. I wonder if eating it would be different? I do have a card to legally buy it so I shouldn’t let it go to waste lol.
keep in mind my experience, I had smoked previous to accident and I didn't care for it too much because it made me paranoid, tired and feeling down at times, when I smoked pre accident. after accident totally different now, it provides muscle relaxation which promotes sleep and a happy feeling which helps fight depression from the health issues we are dealing with constantly. I recommend vaping an indica cannabis oil. for me, eating is fine if u don't mind waiting an hour for drug to take affect, vaping provides relief in seconds, usually about 20 to 30 secs. they also have cbd oil for pain, that has no thc, I hear it s good for certain pains.
I have the CBD oil and it lowered my blood pressure. Ive struggled with low blood pressure since the accident. Sometimes it will go as low as 69/53. I take midodrine for it. With that happening I stopped taking it so I never really took it long enough to know. It says you should give it a month before noticing the affect. I think I might try the indica. My lungs are not very strong and I have a surpressed cough but I’m told a vap will be fine for me to try. I hope it is.

crazy thing about vaping in my experience, I take sativa cannabis oil to aid sleep and indica for daytime use because it doesn't make me as tired, should be the opposite but you'll have to test yourself on that. like u were saying I think exercise and sleep should alleviate some of the pain.
Welcome lthorne , the sleep issue is very frustrating and it's so important for our general wellbeing. You have come a long way since your initial injury which is wonderful but it does take some adjusting to, this new way of life.
Good to hear that you feel you are on the better side of the depression, onwards and upwards!
Thank you Lara. I have been addicted to all your information since last night. Ive learnt more from you in 24 hours than I have in 4 years googling things. You are doing an awesome job. We all are lucky to have people like u that want to help others.
Thankyou, it really is very kind of you to say..im pleased the posts are of some help to you.
I will take medical cannabis orally from time to time. I find it does help me sleep. I don't like to smoke or vape so I avoid inhaling things of there is any other option I'm for it. I have an impaired coughing ability too, so I think that may have something to do with my reluctance to inhale things.
I would suggest, that you take it or try anything that may lower your blood pressure too much only in bed. You may experience some strong sensations if you try to move around after, especially dangerous to those of us who walk in some fashion. Sit in bed after you take it or vape it and watch videos.
I've tried kratom capsules from a local reputable store where they fill and package them in store. I did not notice a dramatic effect. I have taken CBD oil internally as well.
I take flaxseed oil for a cough. Below, this person makes a tea from flaxseed. “When I encounter a dry and irritable cough I know that its time to reach for a demulcent. A demulcent helps to soothe irritated tissue and moisten the mucus membranes. A demulcent is indicated when there is a dry irritable cough with little expectoration. I was also looking for an herbal expectorant. Expectorants increase the flow of mucus and help expel thick excess mucus from the lungs. The last thing I want to do is suppress a cough and have it move into a more severe condition.” thefamilyherbalist.wordpress.com/2010/10/14/my-dry-irritable-cough/
Lthorne, please take a teaspoon of flaxseed oil for that cough.
vintage , I think lthorne ,is saying that her ability to cough is impaired, rather than suffering from a cough. Please correct me if I am wrong lthorne ,
Yes you are right Lara...my cough is impaired. Maybe that flaxseed oil is still a good idea?
I think so, Lthorne. Though I can breathe just fine, my power to cough, sneeze, spit up, and, in general, clear my airways, is impaired. The flaxseed oil makes it oh-so-much easier to clear out my throat and nasal passages. Flem comes up easily, to be spat into a kleenex and discarded.
“I love using remedies that are inexpensive and readily available. A wonderful demulcent that quite a few people might already have at the house are flaxseeds. Flaxseeds not only fit the bill as a wonderful demulcent, but they are also an expectorant.” thefamilyherbalist.wordpress.com/2010/10/14/my-dry-irritable-cough/
In no way wanting to derail this great thread,...Electricguy. If you had a matress like this one, you would not get bedsores, and you could sleep almost all night without being turned. I had the very basic, cheap-o version of this matress in one nursing home,...the version that the guy in this video warns against,...and yet that matress still was instrumental in healing my bedsores. I was gnashing my teeth the day that the nursing home sent “maintenance” to kidnap my matress, taking it down the hallway, across the next hallway, and into an empty room. I actually followed them to see where they were taking it. That’s how good it was. Mine was louder than the model in the video, had no inflated rim, had a solid vinyl cover over the entirety, and when it deflated was hard, with no padding whatsoever. Yet it was a hugh blessing to my poor Job-like bottom, and my sores healed, despite a deficit of care from staff.
I bought an alternating mattress on Amazon made by drive medical for around 50.00. I have had it for 3 years now. It is fairly quiet. A little like being near the ocean. Takes about a week to get use to the breathing of it. Has a dial to go from soft to a firm mattress. I love it, have not set an alarm to turn since I got it. I put it under my mattress pad. It is plastic so I put a towel over it also, since I tend to sweat more an it sure is easier to change the towel than my sheets.
The kratom does taste horrible. If you can get capsules, I would do that. I have just started experimenting with it. I think it may help me. THC can help me sleep, but very temporary relief. I am taking CBD extract also which I started recently in lieu of CBD oil, and I think it is helping with pain or inflammation or something. Massage therapy (after trying lots of different folks to find a fit) is very helpful for me. I have been experimenting with different stretching regimens during the day to try and not have spasms all night with mixed results. Since I sit most of the day, I need to lay face done on a bed and stretch my front side periodically during the day. The stretching experiments are something I can do to attempt to make progress. Four years now and I still tell folks I plan to walk again. Most days I believe it. The days I don't, I seek solace however I can find it...
No sleep is awful. I spend many nights mostly awake. I rejoice on the days I can write 'decent sleep' in my diary. Doctors that really can't relate are frustrating even as they try as hard as they know how.

Thank you Vintage. After some reading on here I have started a list. One more thing to add to it 😁
Larue, do you remember what strain of Kratom that was?
I'm not sure that it really matters, but it was Thai red if I recall correctly. I know red was chosen because of the calming and pain relieving effects. I know each strain, much like MMJ and most other things is really subjective and effects are only expected not guaranteed.
Thus, it doesn't really matter what the strain was IMO
