People who have used marijuana are usually unimpressed with Kratom. It does wonders for my pain and spasticity. I use the Maeng Da strain. I hope it stays an uncontrolled substance.
“What happens if kratom becomes illegal? Nation Jan 15, 2017 12:56 PM EST “...The DEA announced in August that it would list kratom, which is typically sold as a powder in capsules or for tea and can produce both a narcotic and a stimulant effect, as a Schedule 1 drug — along with heroin, LSD and ecstasy... ...Responding to pushback, the DEA in October withdrew its decision and opened a public comment period. It garnered 23,000 comments and 140,000 petition signatures urging the government to keep it legal.” www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/kratom-dea-illegal
Hi, my name is Laurie and I’m not sure where to begin. I am 47 years old and 4 yrs ago I was in a single motor vehicle accident when I hit black ice and Filipped my truck several times. My level of injury is C4 thru to C8. I had a tracheotomy, a feeding tube, and a halo. My family was told I may not make it and If I did that I would be lucky if I was able to brush my hair or my teeth throughout a day. I was in ICU for 3 months and my stay in the hospital was for 8 months. I am a quadriplegic Asia D incomplete. I can walk with a walker. I too have been told that I am a miracle and the doctors are dumbfounded. I also look very healthy but if people could see my pain they would think differently. I have chronic pain. At one time lying in bed gave me relief now lying in bed is a different kind of pain. It doesn’t feel totally like nerve pain and as soon as I move a part of my body I have a spasm for a couple of seconds. When I talk to doctors about it they say yours is a special case and it’s hard for us to know what is happening with you. This is really getting old to me. I don’t get more then 1 1/2 hr of sleep at a time. I know this isn’t the best way to introduce myself to everyone but I have waited a long time to get this out and now that I have.... I spent the last 4 years being depressed and I feel myself finally coming around. I am starting to be thankful for what I can do and not what I can’t. I am very thankful for finding this forum and look forward to getting to know new people.
Hi... my injury sounds maybe a bit similar?.... I actually flipped my car 3 years ago when I was 37. I broke several bones in my cspine but the spinal cord was damaged at both t2 and t4. I had two broken wrists, a collapsed lung another partially collapsed lung a punctured spleen and degloving injury across my face. I went from not being able to move anything below my level of injury to walking with a walker fairly well within 6 months. I have not progressed from that point. I would say that pain was not an issue for me until after two years and now like you I struggle to pinpoint the cause. I am hesitant to call it neurogenic pain sometimes I think it is from unequal tone in muscles causing contractions or cramps which don’t exactly register that way because my sensation is off. I’m just not sure but my foot is killing me right now!!! ... and I completely understand about feeling like yourself again. Hope this helps... wish I knew what to do abt the pain!
Hello Bre, what do you mean you haven’t progressed since that? Are you not stronger at walking now? I was not in really any pain either until the last 1 1/2 yrs.
hi lthorne , welcome and I have to agree with vintage , sleep will do wonders for your sanity. medicinal cannabis vaping also helps in alleviating sleeplessness, I have similar issues as you regarding sleep caused by bladder. cannabis has allowed me to sleep as much as 5 hrs without waking, before cannabis only 2 hrs of uninterrupted sleep, helped me a lot.
I smoked cannabis for sometime before my accident. For me when I had any pain and I smoked cannabis it seemed to intensify the pain. I wonder if eating it would be different? I do have a card to legally buy it so I shouldn’t let it go to waste lol.if
For the OP, when you go to the dispensary ask them about the different strains that they have available. You'll find a surprising amount of variety if you only smoke illicitly before. My suggestion would be to find something with a high CBD content, as that seems to really help with pain. I don't know what your lung issues look like, but eating it is definitely a possibility.
Hi Lthorne and welcome to the group. I'm a C5/6 walker without aides, I broke my neck almost 20years ago. I had terrible pain while messages were trying to get back through my spinal cord. That last for several months but went away. I'm one of the lucky ones who doesnt suffer from neurological pain now, only pain in my back due to a poor walking gait. I also have found little help from the experts....I had problems a few years ago with increased tone in my legs which stopped me from sleeping, I got no help from the system at all so had to resort to my own methods.....because I have almost full feeling, I bought an acupuncture mat which I laid on (bare skin) at night when my legs wouldnt relax, it worked, it tricked my brain into thinking about the pain in my back from laying on the mat and not my legs. I think what the others have said are all good ideas which you should try, in the end you should (hopefully) find something which works for you, its a matter of experimenting and trying things. For 18years I suffered from constipation and lo and behold I found that eating a handful of cashew nuts each day loosens my stool better than any drugs! Self stim is a rarity nowadays which used to be a constant. Do you have full sensation or is it muted from your level of injury down? How bad are the spasms? Some have had botox therapy to help for that and to help with walking. I asked about it several years ago (hoping to improve my walking) but was told I wouldnt be able to walk because my increased tone helps me walk and the botox would counter that.

Hi... I think I was my strongest at walking at 6 months to a year and a half after my in injury... I even painted my bathroom (ceiling and all) by myself at a year and a half after my injury. The walker was primarily how I got around... now it’s really both. If I’m shopping at the mall I take my chair but if I’m running in somewhere to eat I take my walker. My right side is where my pain is it is weaker and has more spasms, feeling and less muscle.
Are the cashews toasted or raw, Tarabev? Thanks for the info.
I just buy the roasted ones that the supermarket sells Vintage......I have no idea why they work for me but they do, they work better than stool softeners, I dont have the cramps that they cause...mind you....back when I used to take them, I'd have to take at least 3 times the recommended amount for them to even work. I hope they help you, I suppose it cant hurt to try!
I do eat cashews. Love them. I get them roasted in a can, when I feel like spending the money. Other times, I get mixed nuts that have cashews, but they always skimp on the cashews and overdo the almonds. I used to buy raw cashews, back before my accident when I could get to Whole Foods. But back then, I didn’t pay much attention to the cashew’s effect on my bowel regularity,...didn’t need to. So, I’ll keep going with the roasted cashews and consider it a “good investment” in my health. Whenever we can eat delicious food rather than taking laxative, that’s a good investment.
I don't eat a lot of nuts either anymore, not a low cost food. when I was AB and employed I ate a lot of almonds, and I was very regular. I believe nuts are just an all around nutritious food and very good for the body and so to some helps evacuate the bowels.
Regardless of whether you have an expansive gathering of closest companions or only a solitary closest companion, we could all identify with a few things that closest companions do and experience together.
Perhaps something appalling transpired today, or possibly you got a decent evaluation on a test you contemplated hard for. In any case, all you need to do is tell your closest companion the great or terrible news so they can partake in your fervor or reassure you.
You have jokes that essentially don't bode well to any other individual, or to be completely forthright, it doesn't sound good to you folks either. I think the recollections emerge on account of how inept the jokes might be, so you wind up simply giggling at the ineptitude.
Particularly in the wake of leaving to school, it's difficult to not see your closest companion for some time. You begin to consider the great circumstances and dream about observing your closest companion once more. When you at long last social gathering, it resembles you folks were never separated. You fall ideal over into the cycle of telling terrible jokes, chuckling at each other when one of you accomplishes something imbecilic, and basically appreciating each other's conversation.
You could stroll around in a giraffe onesie that you purchased off of Amazon, and subsequent to chuckling at you, they'll ask where you got it so they could get a coordinating one. You could talk throughout the day and night about the Jonas Brothers (despite the fact that you're right around 22-years of age) and they will hear you out as opposed to passing judgment on you for as yet preferring a kid band who has separated very nearly 4 years back.
Some days (or consistently) you simply need to do literally nothing yet watch the great Disney Channel Original Movies while appreciating a devour of your most loved nourishment in your night robe. Some of the time you'll very much want doing this as opposed to going out and getting alcoholic.
By picking up a closest companion, you increase another mother who will remind you to consider for your test. You increase additional kin who you adore like your own blood-related kin. You pick up the adoration and consideration of their pets, and may even have a greater number of photos of their pets than your own special pets.
It's a dirty business, but making sure your little one's bum stays clean and dry is crucial to keeping her comfortable and avoiding diaper rash. Expect to become a diaper-slinging pro, since newborns typically soil ten or more diapers a day. That's more than 300 changes in the first month. (But who's counting ...

I eat 2 100 gram containers of activa yogurt everyday and that works great. I have no need for senokot.
