Lαrα, I have a follow-up with my neurosurgeon in February. There is no spinal unit here in ND. The closest one is in Minneapolis, and my Medicaid sure wouldn't pay for that!

I will call my physical therapist after I get my new wheels next week. I'm anxious to go back, even though Medicaid will probably tell me I don't have any more sessions because I haven't improved. I want to work on wheelchair skills too, but I don't think Medicaid will pay for PT so I can do that. It sucks. Medicaid is so strict.
oh damn Knight...well dont give up without a fight..i wish we could do something to help...
but if there is anything we could do then let us know..even if its to help put a persuasive email together or something? ( not that you cant but we could do something official maybe )
Sorry to hear that Knight, it's too bad you can't go back to improve on things like wheelchair skills. Even though I was discharged from outpatient rehab one year ago, they told me that if I felt that I needed to improve on skills such as transferring, wheelchair skills, etc I could get a doctors note saying that I'd like to improve on whatever skill and they'll take me back as an outpatient.
February isn't too far away so it's good that you'll be seeing your neurosurgeon soon
Butiki, the problem is that Medicaid is state-run. If I was back home in Montana, I wouldn't have had to wait a year and have proof of 12 UTIs to get 150 straight caths instead of just 4 per month. North Dakota's Medicaid guidelines haven't been changed for over a decade, I'm afraid.
