My Botox injections last about 6 months, then I go and get more injections. I was on Ditropan/Oxybutinin for about 19yrs an then it just stopped working for me and id void everytime I had a spasm. The Botox has been a life saver for me.

I might have to end up going your route one day steve. I'm glad the Botox has helped you in a positive way!

I too am interested in getting Botox in my bladder. I know a friend who had hers done and she absolutely loves not having to worry about peeing herself, having pain, or taking meds.
How often do you catheter yourself a day? I have been able to void completely since my surgery 9 months ago. Lately, it has been more difficult to urinate and I don't think I am voiding completely. Which brings me to the catheter (I figured it would happen sooner or later). Anybody have any advise?
kisch5 I only catheterize 2-3 times a day but I really should be cathing more. All other times my body emptys itself but not completely. Try catheterizing right after you void and see if there's any risuadual urine. If there's 50ml or less you're fine but if not you may have to cath every 6 hours.
I've done urodynamics before and they said I was voiding completely (less than an ounce left after voiding during the x-ray). It's gotten more difficult lately though, urinating that is, and it worries me a little bit. Do I need to go and see a urologist or can I figure out how to do it on my own (I had never been to a doctor for more than a flu shot up until nine months ago, and I can honestly say I don't ever really want to see another ever again)?

If you are experiencing some issues voiding then you should most definitely go and speak to your doctor. Explain to him/her that you have a spinal injury and you believe there is a possibility that you are retaining as you are having some problems.
I understand totally how you feel about visiting the docs but its better to get checked out. If you are found to be retaining then you can be given assistance and also it may be worth making sure you are not developing more neurological damage.
Sometimes bowel issues cause a problem with emptying the bladder, bladder spasms can affect the flow too. There is a method of pressing gently over the bladder to help void but ideally you should be shown how to do this by a medical expert in this area...
Good luck with it and keep us informed but get checked sooner than later so you can avoid any potential problems.
Even if you do have to go down the route of catheterizing, some people catheter morning and night just twice a day...especially if they do not have significant retaining...It all depends...

Oh if you've never catheterized before I suggest you see your urologist/doctor as Lαrα has mentioned. Difficulty urinating is one thing but if your bladder isn't retaining any urine, it's a good thing but definitely go get checked.
