I have started going to acupuncture person. I have been twice, with the visits one week apart.
It may be coincidence, but the day after 2nd visit, and for a few days now, I have felt much less burning sensation in my legs. I am going back once a week for a total of 5 or 6 times to see what happens. I will update this entry as I experience the results.

Sorry i missed your welcome dodahman... I hope the improvements continue
I've been having weekly acupuncture treatments for about 9 months. I had one today and had markedly less pain immediately after treatment. There is no doubt it my mind that it works. I have been having a rough time with pain. Today was a good day.

Here is my update. I have gone 5 times now, once a week. The next visit is 9 days apart from the last. At week 3, I told the person(acupuncturist?) that I was feeling reduced amount of neuropathic pain for about 5 days after the treatment. She said good, and that we would 'up the dose' so to speak to see if we could get a week of relief. And yes, the treatment did last until the next weekly visit. I have no idea if it is correlation or causation, and really don't care. I know I am feeling better in conjunction with receiving treatment. My gym visits are now every other day, whereas 5 weeks ago, it was all I could do to make it twice a week. If you are thinking about acupuncture, I would recommend trying it. Since I have started and mentioned it to friends, I have heard a lot of folks say that it has helped them as well for lots of different stuff.

Thanks for the update Dodahamn. This is something I haven't tried yet. I'd try almost anything, so this may be something to check out for sure. To be honest I thought it was bunk.

Good luck to all.
Hey dodahman, thanks for the update! It's great to hear that you're noticing improvements and solutions to pain.
I also had acupuncture therapy once a week but I stopped doing it due to busy schedules but I think slowly over time my nerve pain has gotten worse. I should give it a try again and see how it goes!
I have tried EVERYTHING that anyone can think of, except a neurostimulator or (I just heard of this as an option today!) a steroid shot into your spinal column. Those are my only 2 options. The latter was actually brought to my attention because the only explanation the doctors can find for my arm numbness is neck pain. They've done a nerve conduction study and MRIs, and that seems to be the only explanation, so I'm thinking, if a shot in the cervical spine area can relieve the numbness & tingling in my hands and arms, why wouldn't a shot in the lower thoracic region relieve my legs' tingling and burning?
I can't wait to run this idea past the docs! It makes sense!
(I'm unsure of the shot in my neck because I know one of the risks is temporary or permanent quadriplegia, but why don't we give it a try in part of my spine that's already damaged? That's a safer call, and, of it relieves even an teeny tiny bit of the nerve pain in my feet, I'll be sold!)
